Job Description
The National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC) is the largest comprehensive astronomical research institute in China. Home to more than 40 research groups, more than 100 senior researchers, more than 200 junior researchers and more than 300 PhD students, the NAOC’s diverse research topics range from planetary science to cosmology, covering theory, observations, and astronomical technology and instrumentation. The NAOC operates FAST, LAMOST, the Einstein Probe, SVOM, AIMS and several other telescopes, including CSST, which is scheduled for launch in the near future.
As part of our continuous development, a new centre dedicated to frontiers research in astronomy has recently been founded. We hence invite applications to a number of open positions over the next few years. Successful applicants will conduct scientific investigations of a wide range of cosmic phenomena, from interstellar dust to the large-scale Universe, as well as work on astronomical technologies and methods spanning the radio band to cosmic rays, and from lunar and deep-space exploration to other applied branches of astronomy. Members of this centre are expected to introduce cutting-edge scientific concepts or technical approaches, develop research programmes with significant innovative potential, explore emerging research directions or pursue high-level technological advances, and establish research teams with strong innovation capacity.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in astronomy or related fields and have at least three years of postdoctoral research experience. When evaluating applications, we seek to identify a strong track record, outstanding potential for scientific research and innovation, the ability to work independently.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation Type:Salary
Compensation Range:CN¥600,000 to CN¥800,000
Included Benefits
The salary and benefits shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant regulations of the National Astronomical Observatory and the state, including the five insurances and one fund, paid annual leave, union benefits, annual physical examination, etc.
After being selected, one can obtain a senior-level position in the civil service establishment with a minimum employment period of 3 years and provide research start-up funds.
