The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia's federal government agency for scientific research. It maintains more than 50 multidisciplinary institutes globally, works with world-leading organizations and publishing scientific journals of a broad range of subjects. CSIRO also invest in astronomy, through the running of several national astronomical observatories, including the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA), the Parkes Radio Telescope, the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP). CSIRO also has long-term collaborations with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Astronomical Observatories of China, CAS. Specifically, CSIRO designed and manufactured a 19-beam receiver for the FAST telescope; the receiver is currently being tested at the FAST site.
