Supernovae are titanic explosions of dying stars that can be observed over vast distances. Astronomers use supernovae as distance indicators to track the motions of galaxies very far from our own. This letter addresses some issues about trying to understand the relationship between supernovae observations and their related data analysis, which can lead to better models of motions of galaxies in our Universe.
