The Galactic halo magnetic field revisited TEXT SIZE: A A A
Our Galaxy has an expansive and complex magnetic field, which contorts and varies in different regions of our large Galaxy. This magnetic field also affects the path of charged particles streaming through interstellar space called cosmic rays. This article revisits and improves upon previous three-dimensional studies of our Galaxy's magnetic field, focusing on how the field changes in the pancake-shaped disk verses the surrounding spherically-shaped halo.
