Photometric study of eclipsing binaries in the Large Magellanic Cloud — I. W UMa type binaries in the Large Magellanic Cloud TEXT SIZE: A A A
Eclipsing binaries are stars which orbit around each other and periodically eclipse each other from our perspective. They get dimmer for a while as one star moves in front of the other. These kinds of stars are important since studying them can yield information about the masses, radii and brightnesses of stars. This article describes the results of research about an eclipsing binary in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a galaxy close to our Galaxy.
