Comparison of halo detection from noisy weak lensing convergence maps with Gaussian smoothing and MRLens treatment TEXT SIZE: A A A
Light passing near massive galaxies can be bent by their gravity, forming distorted images of objects located behind these galaxies. These massive galaxies bending light creates a gravitational lens. The mathematical equations describing these gravitational lenses can be very complex and difficult to solve. This article develops tests for gravitational lenses, allowing astronomers to better understand their complex behaviors, especially for surveys searching for massive galaxies acting as gravitational lenses.
