Search for pulsations in the LMXB EXO 0748–676 TEXT SIZE: A A A
Neutron stars are compact cores of former massive stars. If a neutron star orbits another star, material can flow from the companion onto the neutron star in a process called accretion. This flowing material can become very hot and emit radiation, even high-energy X-rays. This article describes a study that searches for patterns in the observed X-ray data from this binary system, helping astronomers better understand its properties.
