Many star systems are binaries, meaning that two stars orbit around each other. Eclipsing binaries are special cases of binaries where the members periodically block the light of their companions from our perspective. Astronomers can study eclipsing binaries to derive properties of these systems. This article describes observations of two eclipsing binary systems and the subsequent improved parameters describing these systems, including mass, luminosity and radius of the member stars. The results of this study give astronomers a better understanding of this kind of star system.
