Solar sail time-optimal interplanetary transfer trajectory design TEXT SIZE: A A A
Traditional methods of spacecraft propulsion use chemical fuel, which is heavy and expensive. Solar sails are a way of propelling spacecraft in the solar system that uses radiation from the Sun instead of chemical fuel. This article develops the mathematics and computer calculations needed to reach a circular orbit, giving researchers a better understanding of this complex process.
