Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are rapid explosions far from Earth that release immense amounts of energy. After a GRB occurs, material called ejecta spews into the surrounding space. This article describes analysis of observed data of GRB ejecta material observed by a satellite, helping astronomers better understand these powerful objects.
