BL Lac objects are distant bodies that can show bursts of explosive activity, with enormous jets of  expelled material shooting away from their cores. This article describes new observations of a BL Lac object where material observed around the core can be used to trace flows swirling around it. The results of this article help astronomers better understand the complex behavior of BL Lac objects.
