Eclipses in our Solar System occur when one body blocks light from the Sun and thus casts a shadow on another body. This article describes observations of the moons of Jupiter taken when one moon eclipsed another one. Astronomers observed these eclipses and were able to take precise measurements of this process, helping them to better understand the Jovian system.
