Modeling blue stragglers in young clusters TEXT SIZE: A A A
Blue stragglers in a cluster are stars that appear bluer and younger than their neighbors, even though members of the cluster formed at about the same time. Blue stragglers are believed to form from mergers of stars, but their origins are not entirely understood. This article simulates populations of blue stragglers with given properties helping astronomers better understand their evolution.
