Reanalysis of the RXTE observations of the black-hole candidate XTE J1650–500 in the 2001/2002 outburst TEXT SIZE: A A A
Violent outbursts occur when material falls into a black hole. As the material falls in, it heats up and produces radiation. This article studies radiation from the outburst of what is believed to be a black hole called XTE J1650–500. The results of their study help astronomers better understand how these types of objects behave.
