It is very difficult to image exoplanets since they are so dim compared with their parent star. Coronagraphs offer a way to increase the contrast in this imaging process. The blurring effects of Earth's atmosphere are an additional barrier in this imaging process. This article proposes using a liquid crystal array acting under the control of an electric field to correct for the effects of Earth's atmosphere, offering the possibility to improve the process of exoplanet imaging.
