There are many artificial satellites that orbit the Earth and emit periodic radio signals which can be received on Earth's surface. Electronic devices can be used to receive these signals and compute the location of the receiver. This article describes efforts to develop a new system of satellites which can more precisely locate the user's position on Earth and offer more flexibility, improving this type of geographic location service to its users.
