Our Universe is expanding and accelerating its rate of expansion. Although this behavior has been confirmed by repeated observations, it is difficult to theoretically explain. This article considers the influence of strings in the early Universe to help account for this accelerated expansion, giving astronomers more insight into this complex problem.
