Large clouds of molecular gas fill large expanses of our Galaxy. This article studies the motions of one such large cloud with the heat that it radiates and, from the observed changes in wavelength, finds that there are multiple components in the cloud which are colliding with each other. The results of this study help astronomers better understand the dynamics of these vast objects.
