The Sun's surface can show violent explosions that eject large amounts of material, called Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs). This article describes observations of a CME by satellites that can take high-resolution images of the Sun's surface. In these images, a twisting structure was observed for the first time in this phenomenon, helping astronomers better understand the Sun's dynamic surface.
