Globular clusters are groupings of stars that orbit around the center of a galaxy. They are among the oldest structures in a galaxy and record the conditions under which the galaxy formed. This article describes research that studied the globular clusters around the galaxy M81. From the results of this research, astronomers can better understand the properties of this galaxy.
