As matter falls into a black hole, it forms a disk of material around the black hole. This disk becomes very hot and emits powerful radiation which can drive jets of gas that shoot away from the poles of the system. This article studies the speeds of these jets that shoot away from the black hole, helping astronomers better understand their properties.
