A statistical classification of the unassociated gamma-ray sources in the second Fermi Large Area Telescope Catalog TEXT SIZE: A A A

Gamma-ray bursts are large but brief explosions in the distant Universe that release vast amounts of energy. This study analyzes properties of a catalog of gamma-ray bursts observed by Fermi, helping astronomers better understand these objects.
