The first observation and data reduction of the Multi-wavelength Spectrometer on the New Vacuum Solar Telescope TEXT SIZE: A A A

Astronomers study the Sun with special instruments and telescopes which can identify spectral lines emitted by the Sun. This article describes a new telescope and instrument, based in Yunnan province, China, that collects these types of observations of the Sun, helping to advance this field of study in astronomy.
