The interiors of stars have turbulent motions of different kinds of hot gas, and as these hot gases rise to the surface, they can cause the surfaces of stars to oscillate. Astronomers can observe these oscillations and derive properties of the interiors of stars. This article examines the mechanisms that lead to these stellar oscillations, helping astronomers better understand this phenomenon.
