Noise reduction methods in the analysis of near infrared lunar occultation light curves for high angular resolution measurements TEXT SIZE: A A A

As the Moon moves through the sky, it can cover an object that astronomers would like to study, which is called a lunar occultation. By observing how the light from the object is blocked by the Moon, astronomers can better understand the properties of the object. This article describes a method which can improve the quality of data taken during a lunar occultation, helping to advance this field of research.
