Onboard GRB trigger algorithms of SVOM-GRM TEXT SIZE: A A A

Gamma-ray bursts are explosions in the distant Universe that release large amounts of energy in a short time. This energy can appear as bursts of gamma-rays that a satellite can detect. Because gamma-ray bursts occur over a short amount of time, satellites that observe them must have special methods of distinguishing the pattern of radiation they emit. This article describes an algorithm for detecting these patterns of radiation, helping astronomers observe this phenomenon.
