The breakdown of the power-law frequency distributions for the hard X-ray peak count rates of solar flares TEXT SIZE: A A A

Large explosions on the surface of the Sun can be so powerful that they emit X-rays. This article studies what happens when a flare emits X-rays. These researchers try to find the best model to describe this process. The results of this study can help astronomers better understand this complex process.
