Optical monitoring of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 4151 and possible periodicities in its historical light curve TEXT SIZE: A A A

Seyfert galaxies are galaxies that show activity in their cores, which comes from material generating heat as it swirls around the central black hole. This article describes observations taken of a Seyfert galaxy. These observations are combined with historical observations and analyzed to look for periodicities. These researchers report periodicities in the brightness of this Seyfert galaxy, helping astronomers better understand this object.
