Optical quasi-periodic oscillation and color behavior of blazar PKS 2155–304 TEXT SIZE: A A A

Blazars are distant objects that appear to erupt and release large amounts of energy. In the past, researchers thought that these eruptions were random. However, this article studies data about the brightness of a blazar that were collected over 35 years, and they find periodic patterns in the observed data. The evidence offered in this article helps advance the study of blazars.
