Stars can orbit each other at close range, and under the right conditions, two stars can even merge into a single star. When this occurs, material can be ejected from the system which later turns into dust. This article considers how dust is produced in this process and the amount of dust that can be produced in this process. The results of this study can give astronomers insight into this complex field.
