The inner solar system cratering record and the evolution of impactor populations TEXT SIZE: A A A

The history of asteroids that have impacted objects in the solar system is recorded in the resulting craters. This article gives an overview of the study of craters and the related history of bombardments by asteroids in the solar system. This work also explores how this history of bombardment is connected with the populations of asteroids that have orbited the Sun at different times during the history of the solar system, helping to advance work in this field.
