The Earth's atmosphere limits the resolution of optical astronomical observations because light rays are distorted by atmospheric turbulence. Adaptive optics can be implemented in astronomical observations to correct distortions from the Earth's atmosphere. This article proposes a new method of sensing the wavefront used in adaptive optics, helping to advance this field of study.
