H II regions are large clouds of gas inside a galaxy where new stars can be formed. As these new stars form, they generate pressure and outflows that affect the gas in the H II region. This article describes a study that simulates the dynamics associated with H II regions using two types of models called a champagne flow model and bow shock model. The results of this study can help astronomers better understand how H II regions evolve over time.
