Calculating the proper motions of astronomical objects is important because proper motions reveal a lot of information about their dynamics. This article calculates proper motions of a set of objects in the Milky Way by using far more distant sources outside of the Galaxy as a reference, since those distance sources are considered to be fixed. Because the results of these proper motion calculations are applied to LAMOST data, astronomers can better understand the dynamical processes associated with these objects by using LAMOST data.
