SN 1054: A pulsar-powered supernova? TEXT SIZE: A A A

Astronomers are studying the remnant of a supernova (SN) that was observed in 1054. Because there are still a lot of details that are not known about how energy is generated and radiated in an SN, some astronomers think that energy that is released in an SN can come from differing sources. This article considers different possible sources of energy that could have been output from SN 1054, giving astronomers more insight into this complex problem.
