Astronomers search for variable stars and study their properties in order to understand a variety a physical processes associated with them. This article describes a study of a particular kind of short-period variable star that could be a rare M dwarf contact binary. By studying this variable star, astronomers can better understand the behavior of such rare objects, giving them more insight into this field.
