OJ 287 is a BL Lac object that undergoes quasi-periodic outbursts which are visible to observers. This article describes a campaign to monitor the activity of OJ 287 over a number of years which uses multiple optical wavelengths. The results of this study can help contribute to efforts to understand this active body.
