According to the BRICS STI Calendar of Activities for 2023-2024 adopted at the 11th BRICS STI Ministerial Meeting (Qheberha, South Africa, 4 August 2023) Russia will host the 10th Meeting of the BRICS Astronomy Working Group Meeting. The Meeting as well as the International Scientific Conference "The BRICS Intelligent Telescope and Data Network" will take place from 9 to 13 September 2024 in Kazan, Russia, in face-to-face format. The possibility of participation in an online format will also be considered for those registered participants who cannot attend the event in person.
The meeting is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation with the support of the Kazan Federal University. This Administrative Circular provides preliminary information on administrative procedures, accommodation and meeting logistics, as well as the general requirements for participants. Russia warmly welcomes participants of the 10th Meeting of the BRICS Astronomy Working Group and wishes efficient and productive cooperation.
This year the science theme of the meeting will be “The BRICS Intelligent Telescope and Data Network”. The aim is to advance the data aspect of the BRICS flagship proposal “BRICS Intelligent Telescope and Data Network”. The meeting will bring together the astronomy community including researchers, outreach, education and development practitioners, and policymakers.
