OLDE: The General Office of Lunar and Deep-space Exploration, CAS

The General Office of Lunar and Deep-space Exploration (OLDE) was formally established in 2008 by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and relies on NAOC to operate.

 

On behalf of CAS, the office is responsible for organizing institutes to participate in China’s Lunar and Deep-space Exploration Program as an organizer, coordinator and administrator. With the unremitting endeavor, CAS has successfully implemented Chang’e-1, Chang’e-2 and Chang’e-3 missions.

 

The main tasks of CAS in China’s Lunar and Deep-space Exploration Program include:

1) scientific objectives;

2) ground application system;

3) satellite payloads;

4) Precise orbit determination with VLBI;

4)Other instruments;

5)Scientific research.
