Laboratory of Optical and Infrared Astronomical Camera Technology (affiliated to Space Science Division).
The Laboratory of Optical and Infrared Astronomical Camera Technology supports research on camera technology, builds instruments for optical and infrared telescopes, and provides maintenance, calibration, and testing services.
It is set up with a dewar and focal plane assembly room, a detector testing room, a general optical experiment room, and a general workshop. The whole laboratory maintains a class 10000 cleanroom environment, and the dewar and focal plane assembly room consists of a class 1000 cleanroom segment and a class 100 cleanroom segment.
The laboratory is equipped with oil-free vacuum pumps, a high-precision helium mass spectrometer, PCC cryogenic coolers, a vacuum baking chamber, non-contact surface profilometers, monochromators, integrating spheres, motorized precision stages, high-performance CCD/CMOS cameras, etc. The laboratory is capable of building small mosaic cameras with various cryogenic cooling options. It is expanding its capacity and developing technology for large mosaic focal planes.
