On March 31 to April 1 2016, Dr. Pierre Lemonde, Counselor of Scientific & Technology Department of French Embassy, headed a French delegation visiting Xinglong Observatory of National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC).
The delegation visited night observations and control room of LAMOST, which is the current largest optical spectroscopic telescope in China, and have obtained about 5 million spectra of Astronomical objects up to the Data Release 3 in December 2015. They also visited 2.16m optical telescope, BATC Schmidt telescope and the ground-based wide angle camera (GWAC) . Yanchun Liang introduced the general situation of NAOC and its international cooperation. Yulei Qiu introduced the SVOM project to the guests. Bilateral discussions were held following the visits as to how to improve the collaborations between China and France in Astronomy, including the joint laboratory LIA-ORIGINS, and the joint space mission SVOM project. This visit will help deepen the collaborations between China and France in Astronomy and further improve the joint projects and researches.
Drs Antoine Mynard, Sophie de Bentzmann, Xavier Bressaud, and Alain Omont from French side, and Drs Charling Tao, Xu Zhou, Yulei Qiu, Yanchun Liang, Zhenyu Wu from Chinese joined this visit.
