Adaptive optics involves using technology like lasers and deformable mirrors to correct distortions in astronomical images that arise from atmospheric turbulence. This article describes the integration of an adaptive optics system into a 1.8 meter telescope located in Lijiang, China. This new system will be advantageous for studies conducted using this telescope, allowing this telescope to participate in some frontier research.
