Dr. Charles F. Bolden Administrator of NASA leads delegation to visit NAOC on the morning 14 Nov. 2014. Director of NAOC, Prof. Yan Jun, deputy Directors Prof. Li Chunlai and Prof. Xue Suijian meet with the delegation and introduce the basic status of NAOC, including scientific facilities, programs and projects, especially the space programs such as the ChangEr series of projects for Lunar exploration. The delegation also introduces NASA and their ongoing major projects. The two sides have efficient discussions and especially on the possibility to collaborate on the future Lunar and deep space explorations and the planetary sciences. Indeed, collaborations in these fields have been started, for example, NAOC has made joint researches with Arizona State University (ASU) and two of our researchers are visiting ASU at this moment.

This visit is important for developing collaborations between NASA and NAOC. The officers from NASA, Drs. Michael O'Brien,Lauren Worley,Chris Blackerby and Justin Tilman, the program manager of Bureau of International Cooperation of CAS Mr. Qingquan Zhang, and the professors Weijian Yan, Huang Maohai, Yuan Weimin, Cui Jun and Liang Yanchun at NAOC also join the discussions.
