Achievements:
Gong-Bo Zhao is a world expert in science frontiers including dark energy and cosmological tests of gravity using large galaxy surveys. Using the BOSS galaxy survey, which was the largest galaxy survey in the world in the past 5 years, he found the hint of dynamics of dark energy, which is crucial for the study of dark energy. Since 2015, he has been a science working group lead for the eBOSS survey, which is the largest ongoing galaxy survey in the world. He is a core member of the PFS, DESI and Euclid surveys, which are the largest ongoing galaxy surveys in the world.
He has published over 100 refereed research papers in cosmology in world renowned journals including Nature Astronomy and Physical Review Letters, with a total citation over 7000, and an H-index of 42. He won a Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship (2016) due to his excellency in cosmological research.
